I NEED COMPUTER HELP!!!

My computer constantly shuts itself off. Not as in shut down, but actually suddenly shutting off without warning. I have NOOOO CLUE why. I'm sick of it. I can't really do anything without it shutting off. I can't figure it out. It's not virus/spyware so I'm guessing it's obviously hardware. But what exactly? Any ideas would be great. thanks!

Sorry to interject but I just clicked on 'Team Regina' friends page by accident really.

Could it be overheating? Is your fan making any funny noises or non at all? What happens if you turn it back on?
Mine had exactly that problem a couple of weeks ago. I had it checked and as soon as it was replaced, everything has been better ever since! (and a LOT more quiet)

If that's the case, you may try keeping an eye on the temperature and allow it breaks to cool down.

It would also probably be a good idea to have a chat with a tech/specialist too.

Good luck! :)

it's ok i don't mind! :D

The fan is working fine. I don't think it's an overheating issue.

I have this gut feeling it's the RAM. This computer is refurbished so I had low expectations. When I got it, it would NOT turn on. I couldn't figure out why. Until I took out the RAM sticks and put them back in..and THEN it worked. So I'm wondering if the RAM is flawed. It won't shut off if I don't have ANY programs open. But when I do things on here, it will. Sometimes it'll go days without shutting off, but there are some days when it will shut off constantly. about once an hour. i'm getting really stressed :(

xD Thanks. :)

Well, if you think it may be the RAM why not try and do exactly the same thing? Just take the sticks off and then back in.
Could that particular sticks be flawed in any way? Would you consider buying new/additinal RAM sticks? If yes, you can swap and see if the sticks are causing the problem. However, it could also be the socket... *sigh*

I would advise you, again, though to have a chat with a tech and see what he/she might think.

Mine did this all the time when my fan was going out. It would shut off in the middle of everything, completely go black. I'm not sure what else it could be hardware wise though! :(
