something i learned today
I REALLY need to get to bed. but first, i wanna tell you guys something that will save some disk space.

Windows users, IF YOU DO NOT USE HIBERNATE, disable that!! it will save you some space. my hiberfil.sys was about 500MB, as the picture said it was, now it's not there since i disabled it. now i have 1.2GB of space :D

now i have to find out more info on configuring my pagefile.sys one. it's basically your virtual memory file. i'm set at the default. which is about 1GB. it SHOULD be at 896 but the pagefile.sys grows..depending on how much the computer is used. i'm thinking about putting it at 700MB, but i'm not sure. i'm scared. i'm gonna find out more info on that.

good 'night' :D

What is Hibernate and where is it located? *is a computer dummy but needs to free up lots of space on her system* :D

hibernate basically is sort of a shut down fuction. the computer stays on but it saves more power. i think it's pretty pointless..since i never shut down anyway. haha.

go to your control panel and click on power options. then click on the 'hibernate' tab. and in the box, uncheck it. click ok, of course. and you'll save about 400MB or so of space :D

It worked! It only saved about 250 MB on mine, but that still made a huge difference! :)

Page file usage is your virtual memory. THe problem is you don't want to set it too low, otherwise disk thrashing will occur due to lack of physical and virtual memory.

Well this would be the first time I've had to see someone disable hibernation as well, good idea. I can't do that with my computers, since I regularly use it on my laptop, and my main PC in case the power goes out for more than 20+ minutes it needs to go into hibernation.
